Matushevskii, Yurii Vladimirovich

 

The Honoured artist of Russia. He graduated Irkutsk Art School in 1949 and Leningrad High Art and Industrial School named after V.I. Mukhina in 1955. In 1956 the artist’s exhibition activity have started. The substandard usage of colours based on different relationship of lights and shadows in different seasons of the year were characteristic features of Y.Matushevskii’s paintings. The artist’s creative work influenced the formation of Vladimir art school in 1960’s. There were personal artist’s exhibitions in 1991 and 1995. His pictures are kept in art museums of Novgorod, Serpukhov, Kazan, Blagoveschensk.
